Great late 20's Mosaic Tile Company Arts & Crafts style wide border tile. High relief vine design with leaves and berries. Fantastic curdled alligator glazes of cream and dark blue matte over a speckled red clay body that is no less in quality or texture than Grueby tiles. The tile measures 4" x 6" x 3/4" and is in excellent condition. The tile was de-installed and thus has a slight residue of plaster on reverse.
Its almost impossible to find large early Jugtown pieces these days as most are in collectors high end collections. This one measures 9" tall and 6" wide and has a great Chinese white glaze.
