The Handel Lamps Book by highly respected Handel experts Carole and John Hibel & John Fontaine, indicate that this lamp produced by Handel in 1906 were called "Teroca" and introduced their new line of painted overlay lamps. The book on page 40 shows these shade and base combinations. All over smoky blue overglaze adds to the mystifying quality of this piece. The vase is described in Roseville's catalogs as shape number 630-6, 6.5" tall/4.5" wide, and is marked as shown with the Roseville silver foil label.
