Fine copy of Roycroft's "Contemplations" c. 1902, leather binding cover with stamped title, color illumination of the title page, 119 pages. Contains many fine photos of the Roycroft campus interiors and is an excellent read on the community of the period. The book measures 11" by 9" and is in excellent condition with some slight wear to cover edges.

Book "All the Year Round" by James Whitcomb Riley with twelve woodcuts by Gustave Baumann. Each woodcut is accompanied by a Whitcomb poem Published by the Bobbs Merrill Company 1912. This book is in very good condition considering it's age with no tears or foxing. Binding is tight and front and back covers are clean and damage free.

Ralph Waldo Emerson's essay on Self Reliance printed on Japan Vellum, copy 87 of 100, printed and bound by the Roycrofters in 1902. Book is signed by Elbert Hubbard and also by Lily Ess as the Illuminator. Minor spine & top edge wear to leather, otherwise no stains, cracks or wear to binding. Pages are crisp and clean. Measures 8 1/2 by 5 1/4 inches and contains 46 pages. A very fine copy of a rare early Roycroft vellum book.

Elbert Hubbard's 1900 journey to the home of Walt Whitman. This volume is bound in suede, has illuminated front chapter initials and measures about 9 by 6 inches. Frontispiece photoengravure of Whitman, protected by onion skin, by Saint Jerome Roycroft. Book is in fine condition with no damage to pages, bookmark, binding, or spine.

Besides the photographic art there are a multitude of Grueby ads and one of the best written histories of the early 20th century potteries that thrived in the Boston, MA area.
