| Here is a fine antique Waterbury figural clock of a man tending his geese. The clock was made in the 1800's and still runs fine and chimes on the hour. In addition to the Waterbury movement inscription (as pictured), the clock is dated with a patent date of 5/10/1859 on the face frame and on the case is inscribed by the metalsmith N. Muller, NY, N 10, and Patent A. 5. The clock is 19" tall 14" wide and 4 1/2" thick. The gilded scene is of a resting goose tender on rocks, his pack at his side, geese at his feet, and a hawks head in the center bottom. The clock keeps time beautifully as only these old clockmakers knew how to do so well. They just don’t make them like this anymore. | |
